The White House’s Christian-driven initiatives and faith agenda in 2017 were only the beginning and more will be unveiled this year, according to Pastor Paula White of U.S. President Donald Trump’s Faith Advisory Council.
Speaking to CBN‘s Faith Nation in an interview, Pastor White told program hosts David Brody and Jenna Browder that the council will unveil six new initiatives for 2018. The televangelist said the White House’s faith initiative was exciting because it would see the administration working with churches and other members of the faith community on important issues that included criminal justice and mental healthcare.
“David, the faith initiative and of the White House is really exciting. There should be some things rolling out early part of the year that we’ll have about six initiatives – exciting, exciting things that, if we thought we did some things last year, boy, wait until this year,” White told Brody. “I mean, we’ll be touching on everything from humanitarian, working of course on criminal justice reform, religious liberties, so many different aspects, mental healthcare, substance abuse.”
Last month, White appeared on Fox & Friends to celebrate the Trump administration’s efforts to combat the alleged war against Christmas. She praised the president for bringing prayer back into the White House and religious freedom in the courts. She also referred to him as a believer and a man of faith, Mediaite reported.
In addition, White commented on how nice it was to be able to greet each other “Merry Christmas.” The key faith advisor added that it was great that Jesus Christ was back within the vicinity of the White House.
Even during his presidential campaign, Trump had been vocal about combating the “war on Christmas.” This past holiday season, he finally declared on Twitter that Americans were now proud to say “Merry Christmas” again.
