The News & Advance | Liberty University expanding Dobson Center

Liberty University is expanding the James C. Dobson Center for Child Development, Marriage, & Family Studies due to increased student demand, according to a news release from LU.

Housed under the School of Behavioral Sciences, the Dobson Center opened 18 months ago.

The Dobson Center offers three graduate programs and three undergraduate minors that pair with LU’s Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree. Students who complete the program receive a marriage and family relationship coaching certificate. Students also can take electives from the center.

According to the news release provided by Liberty, “student demand has outpaced the university’s original growth projections, spurring major additional investment in the program.”

Dobson, the namesake of the center, is the founder of Focus on the Family, a radio program that has been on the air for more than 40 years and an evangelical organization based in Colorado.
